Speaker Announcement: Tchadas Leo
In honour of National Indigenous Peoples Day, PodSummit is proud to announce that Tchadas Leo (@tchadas_leo) will be joining us as a session speaker at PodSummit YYC 2024 in September. Tchadas, the celebrated host of the Our Native Land Podcast, is renowned for his work in highlighting Indigenous stories and issues through powerful storytelling.
Tchadas’ contributions to amplifying Indigenous voices and communities through podcasting aligns perfectly with the core values of PodSummit. In his session, Learning to Look Beyond the Obvious, Giving History New Life, he will be sharing how he has been using podcasting to help preserve his nation’s language, stories, and heritage.
Together, we will also be creating opportunities for local Indigenous Community Leaders to attend PodSummit YYC 2024 to watch Tchadas’ session, engage in a round table discussion, and learn how Podcasting can be used to give history new life - stay tuned for more details!
Tchadas is an Indigenous TV Journalist, Podcaster, TV Host, Actor, Producer and Documentarian based on Vancouver Island. His Indigenous lineage belongs with the Xwemalhkwu First Nation and the Stillaguamish Tribe of Indians. He also has Peruvian & Argentinian ancestry.
Tchadas has been with the CHEK Media group with his multi-national award-winning podcast and TV show known as Our Native Land since 2020. His accolades include 2022 Canadian Podcast Awards Indigenous Podcast of the year and 2023 Amazon Music’s top podcasts of the year. His talk show/podcast focuses on all things Indigenous from Vancouver Island and across Canada.
