ABOUT

Brad Clark is an Associate Professor in the broadcast and journalism programs at Mount Royal University and co-director of MRU’s Community Podcast Initiative. Much of his teaching focuses on narrative journalism, including podcasting. His passion for audio storytelling developed over the course of 20 years as a journalist, much of it spent working in radio at the CBC.

During his time at the public broadcaster, he worked on an award-winning investigative unit in Edmonton in the 1990s, and as a national reporter based in Calgary from 2000 to 2006. In 2014, Brad earned a doctorate degree in communication, examining television news representations of Indigenous Peoples and racialized groups. Much of his research has focused on diversity, equity and inclusion in all forms of media, including podcasting.  He’s the author of Journalism’s Racial Reckoning: The News Media’s Pivot to Diversity and Inclusion
